Amazon Kindle Oasis with 7-inch display, waterproof design launched in India

Pre-orders for the new device start on November 15 on Amazon India. The newest model of the Kindle Oasis has a 7-inch display with a screen resolution of 300 ppi or pixels per inch.

In terms of waterproofing, the Amazon Kindle Oasis is IPX8 rated, which means that it can withstand immersion in over 1-meter of water.

Amazon has announced a refresh for its most-advanced eReader, the Kindle Oasis, which will see the device gain IPX8 waterproofing.

TheStreet cut Express Scripts Holding Company from a "b-" rating to a "c+" rating in a research report on Monday, February 6th. Becker Capital Management Inc. raised its stake in shares of Express Scripts Holding Company by 30.6% in the third quarter.

Eric Saarnio, head of Amazon devices in the European Union said: "It has a 7in screen, an inch larger than any of our recent devices, and is also the highest resolution with 300ppi screen density, meaning we can fit around 30% more words on the screen per page, which means customers have to turn fewer pages".

At $349.99, the most advanced Kindle Oasis comes with 32 GB of storage and free cellular connectivity, which will allow you to purchase, download, and stream new books on the go. Waterproofing has always been an omission on Kindle e-readers, and will now let people read at the beach or in the bath tub without worrying about damage, Amazon said. The new Oasis offers a battery life of up to six weeks on a single charge on regular usage.

In the U.S., the company is offering a 4G model for the cellular variant, but in India, it's offering a Wi-Fi + free 3G model, where the company pays for the 3G connectivity enabled by Amazon Whispernet. It will also make your device work much better and the Audible feature works on both Bluetooth headphones as well as on speakers. Amazon has partnered with Vodafone to offer the free 3G connectivity in India, but says that the service will be available in "more than 100 countries and territories". The water-proof fabric covers are priced at Rs. 2,999 on and come in three colours - Charcoal, Indigo and Sandstone. Rs. 28,999) for the Wi-Fi and 3G model.
