Amazon's Alexa can recognize the voices of multiple users

Amazon's Alexa can recognize the voices of multiple users

The solution, for these mostly blind devices, has been voice recognition, first seen on the Google Home, and today available on Amazon's Echo range of smart speakers.

Voice profiles will replace Alexa voice training.

One of the biggest pain points with Amazon's voice assistant Alexa is that it can't differentiate peoples voices. With voice recognition, however, that code can be bypassed, with Alexa only placing the order if she recognizes the person making it. Voice profiles can be made with the Alexa app and any Amazon Echo device.

Mesut Ozil's Agent Talks Future Amid Manchester United Transfer Rumours
However, according to Germany striker Karl-Heinz Riedle, Ozil should snub a move to United and instead move back to Germany. The full-back is still recovering from a serious knee injury which he sustained at the start of the year.

"Once you set up the feature, Alexa will learn your voice (versus your spouse/partner/roommate's voice) and be able to deliver a more personalized experience", a company spokesperson told The Verge. Using the mobile app, users select "Your Voice" in settings and then walk through a series of demo commands to familiarize the software with your voice.

As of today, Alexa will begin to use voice recognition to personally tailor calls and messages, flash briefings, shopping, and music playback via the Amazon Music Unlimited Family Plan.

Google Home had voice recognition capabilities in April, so Amazon's announcement marks the latest move between the companies to meet or top each other's voice assistant. Alexa will automatically choose the right library when you ask her to play music or play a station. About a year later, though, I think it's safe to say Google has turned the tables.
