It is interesting to note though that the auto was not being used by Kejriwal who now makes use of an official vehicle. Being a high profile case, police prefers to stay tight lipped.

The driver had gone inside the secretariat along with Kumari after parking it near Old Chowki around 11.30am. It was stolen at around 2 PM on Thursday. "The Car earlier belonged to CM Delhi", said DCP (Central Delhi) on stolen car.

Vandana Singh, member of AAP's media cell, reported the matter at IP estate police station. Footage from all roads going to Rajghat, towards which the thief sped away, are being scanned to identify him.

The iconic vehicle, also known as "AAP Mobile", was gifted to Kejriwal by an Indian living overseas. It became iconic after Kejriwal used it as a makeshift office while camping near Rail Bhawan to protest in 2014. Delhi Police informed that the auto was being used by a member of the AAP's media cell and that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered. The same happened when Arvind Kejriwal's "AAPmobile" which is a symbol of commitment towards fighting the VIP culture with simplicity was stolen.
