The Heat: Trump visits Puerto Rico plus Las Vegas mass shooting

FEMA Administrator Brock Long confirmed the agency was ignoring Cruz's "noise".

There's been sharp criticism of the Trump administration and the Federal Emergency Management Agency's response to the disaster following Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, not least from Carmen Yulín Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, the territory's capital and most populous city. He also spent much of the weekend picking fights with San Juan's mayor and joked about the impact that paying for the recovery to the damaged island would have on the United States' budget. "We don't have time for the political noise".

Long elaborated that the "bottom line" was that "we are making progress every day" and working "with the governor". Indeed, more than two weeks after the storm made landfall, 43 percent of the island still lacks water access and more than 88 percent lacks electricity.

He alleged that Colors called him soon after his eviction from the Bigg Boss house and asked him to get back on the show. It is not the first time a former contestant has claimed to spill the beans on the show being scripted.

Mayor Cruz said the federal government's response has been slow, inadequate, or downright nonexistent.

"Almost everybody, other than, we have the mayor of San Juan Puerto Rico... she was the lone voice that we saw, and of course that's the only voice the media wanted to talk to", said the President. He added that Cruz was "very complimentary only a few days ago", but "has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump". On Tuesday, President Trump paid a visit to the island see the situation first hand. Afterwards, while Cruz said she hoped new channels of communication with the White House would "put in motion what is needed" to save lives, she also said Trump sometimes was more a "miscommunicator in chief" than a commander in chief. "As we make progress, simple thunderstorms pass through, knock the progress out". Navy press releases confirm the island has received a total of nine critical patients from Puerto Rico hospitals after they experienced power failures.
