Jason Momoa breaks silence on that Game of Thrones rape joke

An video of Game of Thrones' Jason Momoa making a joke about loving his role on the show because it allowed him to "rape lovely women" has gone viral. Jason Momoa has found himself in hot water for inappropriate comments he made during a 2011 Comic-Con panel.

He was on the panel with fellow stars from HBO's Game of Thrones. Perhaps he sees that in even more stark relief in light of the accusations his Justice League costar Ben Affleck is facing.

"But as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there's so many things you can do, like rip someone's tongue out of their throat and get away with it.and rape attractive women", he says.

Jason Mamoa will play Aquaman in Justice League, before getting his own solo-film series, set to begin in 2018.

Momoa's comments caught a lot of flak since being brought back into the public conscience, perhaps magnified by the sickening allegations of sexual abuse levelled at industry heavyweight Harvey Weinstein.

In light of the anger at Momoa's comments, he wrote that reactions were "justified".

"Yeah, I'm raping Emilia [Clarke, who plays Daenerys]".

"As far as Sci-Fi and Fantasy, I love that genre", Momoa says in the video. I'm not a rapist! In a Facebook post, the father of three said he is "saddened and angry" that an influential personality would use his power to manipulate women for sexual gain.
