Tickets for Astros' ALCS Game 1, 2 skyrocket

The Yankees managed to erase a 2-0 series deficit and advance to the ALCS, which is great news for Yankees fans and even better news for Aaron Judge, who has a lot less attention on him today than he would if the Yankees had fallen last night.

Verlander won all five regular-season starts for Houston with a sparkling 1.06 ERA.

NY rallied from a 2-0 series deficit to stun Cleveland in five games in the ALDS, taking Game 5 by a count of 5-2 on the road Wednesday.

NY only scored 38 fewer runs than Houston over the course of the 162-game season.

The plays: Yankees plus-160 in series; Over 8.5 EVEN in Game 1; lean to Overs in other games at 9 runs or below. In the ALDS, the two had a combined five hits, two home runs, five RBIs, four walks, and 26 strikeouts. Keuchel had a 1.12 WHIP with 125 strikeouts in 145 2/3 innings in the regular season. Closer Ken Giles and relievers Chris Devenski and Will Harris had big years, but they don't pose quite the same threat that New York's relievers do. In his 162.2 innings and 10-12 record this year, Gray put up a 3.54 ERA with 153 Ks. I'll go with over 8.5 EVEN in Game 1 and lean to the overs in the rest of the series (they were 5-2 in the season series, including 3-0 in Houston).

Congress sweeps Nanded civic polls, opposition routed
The Nanded civic polls is a fierce fight between the ruling Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Shiv Sena. The area is state party chief Ashok Chavan's stronghold, and over 60% turnout was observed on Wednesday.

StubHub.com spokesperson Cameron Papp said about 3,500 tickets for Game 1 and about 4,000 for Game 2 were available on that site as of midafternoon Thursday.

In Keuchel's lone postseason appearance this year, he went 5.2 innings with three hits and one earned run for a victory in Game 2.

Once in Cleveland, the Yankees were carried by Didi Gregorius, who hit two home runs in the first three innings to give NY a 3-0 lead. Gardner had three hits, a run and a key RBI in the ninth on Wednesday in Game 5, but Judge came up empty 0-for-5 with four Ks. While the Astros do have some decent arms, they haven't had almost the reliability of the Yankees' pen. Carlos Correa and Alex Bregman both had two home runs to help lead Houston to the series win.

For the second time in three years, the New York Yankees will meet the Houston Astros in the MLB Playoffs. Counting the AL Wild Card game, the Yankees have survived elimination in four games. But the lineup of the Astros is a minefield to navigate through and it's hard to see them being slowed down for an entire series as Boston found out very quickly. Meanwhile, the Astros had to work through their city literally being rebuilt in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, carrying the weight of expectations for a 101-win team out to provide hope.
