Trump announces Kirstjen Nielsen as pick to lead Homeland Security

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday Kirstjen Nielsen as his pick for Department of Homeland Security Secretary.

At a formal White House event to announce the nomination, Trump said that Nielsen, through her wisdom and her leadership, has won the universal respect of his entire Cabinet and senior White House staff.

Nielsen was the favorite of White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, and her nomination is another sign of the former Marine Corps general's effort to impose a more conventional, professional management regime on an administration with a reputation for disorder.

"There will be no on-the-job training for Kirstjen", Trump said.

Ms. Nielsen, who is deputy White House chief of staff, was a top aide to Mr. Kelly when he served as DHS secretary.

Elaine Duke has been serving as acting secretary in the meantime. She previously worked as a special assistant to George W. Bush and for the Transportation Security Administration.

Wales stars urge Chris Coleman to stay on despite World Cup agony
Bale is known to be a fan of Coleman and echoed Roberts' sentiments when asked about his national team boss at the start of June. Coleman said after Wales had reached the semifinals of Euro 2016 that the 2018 World Cup campaign would be his last in charge.

Trump cited Nielsen's reputation from her time at DHS as an important factor in his decision. "That sets her apart", Trump said.

Melania Trump proved she owns fall when she showed up to a ceremony at the White House Thursday in a gorgeous dress and coat combo. On Wednesday, a number of senior officials complained that her departure was going to leave behind a void that would have been pretty hard to fill.

Johnson said he would work closely with the administration and the panel's ranking member, Sen.

"I share the president's profound commitment to the security of our country and safety of the American people", Nielsen said.

Some people recounted Ms. Nielsen's advancement as an explanation to a noxious workforce circumstance while others perturbed discreetly that her digression would generate a void at the White House that will be laborious to fill.
