Cubs flight diverted to Albuquerque for ill non-player

After a thrilling victory against the Nationals in Game 5 of the National League Division Series in Washington D.C. on Thursday night, the Cubs didn't make it all the way to Los Angeles as planned for the NL Championship Series.

Chicago held a.159 team batting average and had scored only eight runs entering the series finale.

Lackey is 0-2 against the Dodgers this season, collecting one loss in April in Chicago and another in Los Angeles in May.

Just when it looked like the Washington Nationals were going to win their first playoff series since relocating to the nation's capital in 2004, their luck took a turn for the worst in one of the most weird games of the postseason so far.

In Game 5, the offense wasn't flawless, scoring runs on, as manager Joe Maddon called them, "outs and awkward plays".

"It's just this first game", he said.

"Honestly, as soon as this is done, I've got to go back to the hotel", Maddon said. The announcement continues a shift for Quintana from being a starting pitcher the team had a hard time relying on shortly after his arrival on the Cubs, to someone the club clearly feels can go toe-to-toe with the best pitchers in baseball. "When you get to this time of the year, you really have to be prepared to beat good pitching, which they have". Washington batted just.186 and left 13 runners on base in Game 5.

Former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus interviewed by Mueller team
Mueller has requested a large batch of documents from the White House. He joined the White House as the president's first chief of staff.

The Nationals overcame an early first inning run by the Cubs, thanks to the heroics of center fielder Michael A. Taylor, who bashed a three-run homer in the second to put Washington up, 4-1.

"That was a big turning point in the game", Baker said of the Russell hit. "I thought our guys handled it extremely well". "It's just balls fell tonight". We didn't play a clean game, but we played a game with passion and effort.

The Cubs and Dodgers are back for a rematch of last season's NL Championship Series when Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw takes the mound for Game 1 on Saturday night, but these well-loved powerhouses' circumstances are somewhat reversed. John Lackey is in the mix, but no decision was made. The Cubs are in their third consecutive NLCS, their reputation as lovable losers thoroughly buried.

"We had the best record in baseball during the regular season, which doesn't mean anything now", infielder Kike Hernandez said. "Give the boys credit".

That's when catcher Jose Lobaton came to the plate, kicking off one of the most heartbreaking sequences in the history of the franchise. It will be a fun series.
