Federation of International Cricketers' Associations Responds to ICC's New Test & ODI Structures

Meanwhile, the ODI league will comprise the 12 full members and the winners of the current ICC World Cricket League Championship, and will serve as direct qualification for the 50-overs World Cup.

While the points-scoring system is yet to be worked out, Test nations will play each in other in six series of varying length (minimum two Tests) between 2019 and 2021, before the top two contest a championship final. But squabbling over formats, and fears that some nations will be disadvantaged, have twice stymied efforts to launch a league structure since 2010.

"I think this is the first time that there has been broad structure and context for worldwide cricket", Sutherland said.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday gave the official go-ahead for the trialling of four-day Test matches, attaching with it the caveat that these fixtures be conducted only in bilateral series if both members agree upon it. The nine nations comprising the Test league will be Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and West Indies. South Africa will play Zimbabwe in cricket's first four-day test on December 26, however, Richardson said that while the concept was still in the trial phase it should help Afghanistan and Ireland, who were granted test status in June, get up to speed faster.

Here's the thing. Part of this new context for Test cricket is points for every match.

Moto G5s Kernel Source Code Released
The kernel source for the G5S Plus' kernel was released last month, so now we're just waiting on code for the new Moto X4. It's been five months since Motorola launched the Moto E4 and the phone is already selling for nearly half the price.

As per the global body, the experiment will be beneficial for lower-ranked nations, including the two newest Full Members: Afghanistan and Ireland. So whoever wants to play it can play it. "The extra 30-minute of play can bring seven overs more on each day of the Test and total of 97 overs (against the present 90 overs) will bring excitement to the game This extra time will be able to bring result to the game and it will be good for the game and the spectators will also enjoy the (D/N) Test match", Steak concluded.

"The Ashes will continue to be the biggest Test event that we play in but these matches will have even greater meaning than they do now, if that's possible", Sutherland said. "So, I think it has a number of advantages". The idea of four-day Tests is basically cricket's way of saying "we respect tradition, but it's a pain in the arse".

"This is a significant point in time for ICC members and our collective desire to secure a vibrant future for global bilateral cricket", he said. This has been delivered and every Test in the new League will be a five-day Test format.
