Kim Jong Un visits school, stays away from provocations

North Korea could engage in provocations when Trump visits Japan, South Korea and China in November, according to analysts who spoke to KBS.

It remains unclear whether North Korea will lash out with a weapons test during the exercise, as it often has in the past.

In return, the regime in Pyongyang has threatened missile strikes on U.S. foreign territory in Guam and warned its missles could reach and hit areas across the mainland United States.

In the past, it was rumored that Hyon Song-wol would have been executed on Kim Jong-un's order after the dictator had discovered that the young artist played in an adult movie.

Over the last two years, North Korea has conducted nuclear tests and launched missiles in response to joint drills, which have led to unprecedented UN Security Council Sanctions, including a new round adopted unanimously last month.

These actions "reinforce our determination about the need to tame the United States with fire, and keep our hand closer to the trigger and be ready to take any countermeasures required", the commentary said.

Ri told Russian state news agency TASS this week Trump has "lit the wick of war" against North Korea.

During his remarks at the United Nations last month, Trump threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea and adopted a demeaning nickname for the North Korean leader - referring to him as "Rocket Man" and subsequently "Little Rocket Man".

Trump recently declared that his top diplomat was "wasting his time" in trying to negotiate with the North. "Let's hope that diplomacy works".

On Wednesday, Trump also characterized a diplomatic deal with North Korea brokered under former President Bill Clinton as a failure.

He said: "Before...the ink was dry on the contract, they were already starting again with the missiles, and with the nuclear, frankly".

"These are regular joint exercises to counteract any North Korean threat and improve the cooperation of our armed forces", South Korean Vice Admiral Jung Jin-seop, the country's naval operations commander, said in a statement released by the local Yonhap agency. Several thousand North Korean workers have been working in Middle East construction sites, earning badly needed cash for their government.
