Bruno Mars, Drake, Ed Sheeran lead American Music Awards nods

Besides the three artistes, The Chainsmokers and Kendrick Lamar are also up for the fight to win the award for Artist of the Year. The 2017 show will broadcast live on ABC on November 19 from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater and is produced by dick clark productions. Additionally, "Despacito" is also in the running for Video of the Year.

Funk revivalist Bruno Mars and English songwriter Ed Sheeran were nominated for Artiste Of The Year as well as Video Of The Year for their respective hits That's What I Like and Shape Of You.

Halsey was nominated both for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Song - Pop/Rock for "Closer", her joint effort with the Chainsmokers.

In the New Artist of the Year category, the tussle is among James Arthur, Niall Horan, Julia Michaels, Post Malone and Rae Sremmurd.
