EasyJet flight to Edinburgh aborts landing in high winds

Hurricane Ophelia continues to batter the entire country with winds of over 140km/h recorded, leading to a number of flights in and out of Dublin Airport being cancelled.

Footage has emerged online of a plane attempting to land at Dublin Airport this morning during the treacherous conditions caused by Storm Ophelia.

Flights may begin to depart again later tonight but Cork Airport has said no decision has yet been taken on when that might happen.

The safety of its passengers and crew is Flybe's number one priority and the airline will, as always, do everything possible to minimise any disruption.
