Incurs setback with shoulder

Despite the setback, the good news is the team didn't jump to put him on injured reserve but this does push the future return date back further.

Indianapolis Colts Andrew Luck has experienced soreness in his surgically-repaired right (throwing) shoulder and will not practice this week, general manager Chris Ballard said. The Colts announced on Wednesday that Luck will be given a cortisone shot in his ailing shoulder and will rest for the remainder of the week.

"(Luck) had some soreness in his shoulder that he's been dealing with", Ballard said Wednesday afternoon.

"The doctors and the trainers have chose to give him a cortisone shot to kind of take away some of that inflammation that's been happening", Chris Ballard said.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he admitted that it's Takam's chance to "shock the world" and that it'll be no easy task. He registered two wins since losing by unanimous decision to the now-WBO title holder Joseph Parker in May 2016.

"I've watched every session of him throwing and it's been going really well", Ballard said.

One question Ballard refused to answer was whether or not Luck would actually end up playing this season.

It was noted last week that Luck was making progress in his return.

"It's natural that there's going to be some pain and soreness when you're rehabbing an injury", Ballard said, per the Indianapolis Star. He's now again out indefinitely, leaving Jacoby Brissett the starter for the next few weeks and further dropping the floors of T.Y. Hilton and Donte Moncrief.
