Munich stabbing: Several injured in knife attack, suspect on the run

The victims of the attack are not thought to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

Several people have injured by a man wielding a knife in the German city of Munich, according to police. Police said the attacker was a man of around 40, wearing a green jacket, gray trousers, and a backpack with a sleeping pad attached.

The man launched the attack at Rosenheimer Platz underground station which is on the trunk line of the Munich S-Bahn.

The motive for the assault is unknown, a police statement said. People reported hearing police sirens in various parts of the city.

Munich police have said that at least four people have been lightly injured during stabbing.

Further information was not immediately available.

They added that police were warning residents to stay home.
