Name of Fort Collins Shooting Victim Released

Larimer County's coroner has identified the man who allegedly shot three people in a neighborhood west of Colorado State University Thursday morning, killing two of them before he killed himself, as Michael A. Zamora, 30, of Fort Collins. The shooting suspect is included among the dead. The other victim's names have yet to be released. McNealy had been shot multiple times. His death was ruled a suicide, the coroner said Friday morning.

The scene of the crime was cordoned off by yellow police tape. Many students and faculty live in the neighborhood.

Darren Rutz, a former CSU student who lives near the scene, told CBS Denver station KCNC-TV he was awakened by gunfire, followed by a woman's call for help.

'It seemed like quite a few gunshots to me, ' Rutz said.

Austin Pickett lives in the complex where the shooting took place. "She called 911 and said that within minutes, police vehicles were swarming the area".

Grief counselors tended to students and others at an on-campus student center.

The shooting happened in Fort Collins and the motive is still unknown.

One of the victims was identified Thursday as 22-year-old Savannah McNealy, who was a student at CSU.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports McNealy was studying liberal arts, art and art history. According to the Daily Mail, she was also a designer for the student publication CSU Life.

Early Thursday, October 19 there was a shooting about a mile from Colorado State University campus.

McNealy was an art student who planned to graduate in December. The school is roughly 65 miles from Denver. The apartment complex where the incident happened, City Park is very popular among other CSU students and faculty.
