Severe storms possible this evening

The threat for severe storms returns to Green Country for our Saturday, so please stay weather aware later today! Look for partly to mostly cloudy skies and highs back in the upper 70s to near 80 for our Saturday.

Storm chances are on the increase this weekend as another strong cold front makes its way into North Texas.

Meteorologist Melissa Hall will have the latest forecast tonight and I'll be in the weather center late this evening to monitor the latest severe weather risk. Damaging straight-line winds of 70+ miles per hour will be the highest threat, along with localized flooding. Between 2 and 4 pm, that's when model runs have consistently started to fire up storms, near the vicinity of the Little Apple.

Here is when you can expect showers and storms where you live. The extreme east and southeastern areas hold onto rain chances into the wee early morning hours of Sunday, but by daybreak, the rain chances will be gone, as well as most of the cloud cover.
