Class 10 girl jumps from school building in Kerala, dies

Gauri was a student at Trinity Lyceum school at Thanagassery in Kollam, and was allegedly chided by her teachers after she had a fight with her sister's classmate, reported TheNewsMinute.

Chennai: A class 10 student of the Trinity Lyceum School at Kollam, Chennai, who jumped from the third floor of the school building, succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

According to The News Minute, the 15-year-old girl's uncle had alleged that the teachers did not even allow her to have lunch. The parents of the girl have alleged that she had been harassed by the school authorities which led to suicide bid.

15-year-old Gauri, who hails from Ramankulangara, breathed her last at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram at around 2.30 am on Monday.

The other version was that some eighth standard students began making fun of the deceased's sister over being visited by her elder sister. The issue is learnt to have been settled after talks between the girl's family and the school management.

A case has been registered against two teachers of the school based on a complaint by the victims father. Her sister studies in Class 8 in the same school. Students affiliated to different political outfits clashed with the police near the school.
