Amazon To Make Lord Of The Rings TV Show

Amazon To Make Lord Of The Rings TV Show

The Lord of the Rings TV show - that Amazon was reportedly interested in - has been made official.

Amazon plans a series based on "The Lord of the Rings" by J.R.R. Tolkien.

"I do think "Game of Thrones" is to TV as "Jaws" and "Star Wars" was to the movies of the 1970s".

Prior to the acquisition of rights by Amazon, the Lord of the Rings novels were first adapted into a film series released from 2001 to 2003.

Lord of the Rings is huge, yet people we left feeling a little bit cheated after Peter Jackson's subpar Hobbit trilogy.

Permanent council members Russian Federation and China boycotted the meeting, as did non-permanent members Bolivia and Egypt. The US has designated vice president El Aissami himself a drug kingpin with whom US entities are barred from dealing.

Amazon announced the deal after reaching an agreement with Tolkien's estate, which issued its own statement.

The Lord of the Rings' rich imagery is a fertile ground where script writers can find the inspiration to deliver enticing new epics based on the Middle Earth universe.

Tolkien fans take notice.

"We are delighted that Amazon, with its longstanding commitment to literature, is the home of the first-ever multi-season television series for The Lord of the Rings". All production costs - including development, actors, and the editing - will be separate, and are expected to come in around $100-150 million (about Rs. 653-979.8 crores) per season.

Set in Middle-Earth, the adaptation will explore new storylines preceding Tolkien's The Fellowship Of The Ring, the Internet streamer said, adding that the deal included a potential additional spin-off series. But with the resources available to Amazon you know they'll pump as much money as necessary to ensure that The Lord of The Rings will at least look like a big budget Hollywood film.
