Buhari assures south east on infrastructure

President Muhammadu Buhari, beginning his 2-day south east visit, has landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

This is the first time President Buhari will be visiting the South-East region since he became Nigeria's president.

"When I met with leaders of the south east last month in Abuja they raised several issues of concern including the state of roads in the region".

President Buhari assured that the South-East zone would be accommodated in Federal Government key projects, notably roads and power, as captured in the 2018 Budget recently presented to the National Assembly.

"We are collaborating with the Chinese government to deliver these projects, and have taken very seriously our counterpart funding obligations". I thank you for this honour and warm reception.

When Federer broke a frustrated Zverev at the start of the next set, the writing looked to be on the wall. "A little bit unfortunate with that".

The governors at the airport were Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi).

Earlier, Governor David Umahi said the state was appreciative of the president's support to the state especially in agriculture.

The president also attended the unveiling of the statue of one of the founding fathers of Nigeria Akanu Ibiam.

However, many journalists were barred from entering the Exco Chambers where the president addressed the stakeholders of the state except for about three who later made the voice clips available to their colleagues. Sam Egwu, commended the President for the recent decision to pay former Biafra Police officers their pensions.
