Jose Mourinho decides to take major risk with Marouane Fellaini

Manchester United could lose Marouane Fellaini for free next summer after the midfielder refused to sign the new contract the club offered him in September.

How keen are the Gunners?

That Marouane Fellaini's status at Manchester United would be such a talking point, even six months ago, shows the progress he's made with fans.

Fellaini's current contract expires at the end of the season and potentially he could sign a pre-contract agreement with another side in January.

Mourinho has a good relationship with the player but that may not be enough to keep him.

Others speculated he had accidentally posted a draft version of a tweet sent in the wake of the Texas atrocity. Piers Morgan, a supporter of Mr Trump, said: "At least get your mass shootings right, Mr President.

In total, 56 of Fellaini's 142 United appearances have come in the 15 months since Mourinho took charge and the manager has been a staunch supporter of the Belgian amid much conjecture from supporters and critics.

United tabled a new two-year deal for the Belgium worldwide in September but despite Jose Mourinho making it clear he remains a vital member of his squad, Fellaini wants to move on.

Sticking with Man United and transfers, the Independent on Wednesday believe that Valencia's Carlos Soler is on the Red Devils' shopping list.

But Fellaini didn't impress and it wasn't until Jose Mourinho replaced Moyes' successor Louis van Gaal that the giant Belgian started to shine.

Even though he is just 20, the Spanish under-21 worldwide has shown many qualities United lack as well as a maturity, and would likely cost around £40m.
