NC a finalist for $1.6 billion Toyota-Mazda plant, report says

According to news Agency Reuters, which cites its own sources in the company Toyota, the new plant of the joint venture Toyota-Mazda will be built in Alabama, or in the territory of North Carolina.

In August, the two Japanese carmakers confirmed they will also set up a new, $1.6 billion assembly plant in the United States that will create up to 4,000 new jobs. Tennessee, Texas and SC were recently still in consideration, the people told Bloomberg.

Toyota's collaboration with Mazda goes beyond the shared plant.

The chances for Alabama to be the new home of a $1.6 billion joint vehicle factory appear to be increasing, according to a new report.

The managerial hotseat is up for grabs at Goodison Park , after Ronald Koeman was sacked by the Toffees last month. Sean Dyche , manager of Burnley , looks on prior to the Premier League match against Southampton.

Unsurprisingly, the price to land a new automotive plant is steep.

According to recent reports, the plant will be built in North Carolina or in Alabama. The two companies reportedly want $1 billion in tax breaks and other incentives for the privilege of being the home of the newest transplant facility.

"I think if it doesn't come, we've got a prime site, probably one of the best sites in North Carolina, that can attract an industry of some sort", said Liberty Mayor Filmore York. Mazda and Toyota plan to announce their final choice by early next year, Akira Marumoto, Mazda's executive vice president, told reporters in Tokyo earlier this month.

Toyota President Akio Toyota and his Mazda counterpart Kogai announce their alliance. Mazda will build crossovers at the plant, and Toyota intends to build the Corolla there.
