But the trio, along with the likes of Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold and James Milner have returned to Melwood ahead of a busy period for the Reds.

Klopp was boosted by the involvement of Senegalese forward Sadio Mane who, despite returning early from worldwide duty complaining of a slight hamstring issue, was able to take part after two days' recovery and rehabilitation.

And Klopp wasn't the only familiar face making his return, with Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson now in contention for starting spots this weekend.

Speaking in an interview with Goal, Mane said: "It doesn't matter to me which position I have to be in because I have played in all the attacking roles - right, left, as the No10, second striker and No9".

All players have now returned from worldwide duty - Spaniard Alberto Moreno, Germany's Emre Can, Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum and Serbia's Marko Grujic - with the full squad scheduled to train together on Thursday afternoon.

But Sadio Mane is set to miss out against his old side with a hamstring problem.
