Rose McGowan waives appearance on drug charge

McGowan had been expected to appear in a courtroom for her arraignment, but a judge agreed to waive her appearance at the request of her lawyer.

Worcester set a preliminary hearing for McGowan for January 23, 2018, at 1 p.m.

Her lawyer, James Hundley, declined to comment as he left the courthouse.

She when realized it was gone she filed a claim and even tweeted about it.

The "Charmed" actress explained in an interview with The New Yorker's Ronan Farrow that her wallet disappeared during a flight to Dulles International Airport in Virginia on January 20.

Police say the items tested positive for narcotics.

McGowan has said she intends to plead not guilty, according to The New Yorker.

"She saw a magistrate who released her on a 5,000 USA dollar (£3,800) unsecured bond".

McGowan told The New Yorker that even though the warrant was issued February 1, she didn't respond to it for months out of fear that she was being followed by people hired by Weinstein.

■ HARVEY WEINSTEIN is being sued by an actress who claims he raped her in a Beverly Hills hotel after discussing a role in one of his shows. The warrant had not yet been publicly disclosed at the time of the alleged conversation.

Their mission was named "Operation Parachute" and involved them snooping on actresses, designers including Kenneth Cole and amfAR to try to prove that he was the victim of a smear campaign. McGowan has starred in several films, including "Scream", "Jawbreaker", and "Planet Terror", as well as the early 2000s television series "Charmed".

The unpublished book, which is titled fearless, references Weinstein.

She said: "I had it in the side pocket of my backpack, and I left it on my seat as I went to the bathroom". She and her attorney have suggested the drugs could've been planted.

McGowan said that isn't into cocaine but that marijuana is her "jam". She had declined to describe what occurred with Mr. Weinstein but later described her experience, on Twitter, as rape. Ms. McGowan said on Twitter in October.

The 44-year-old's hearing is set for Thursday.

He faces police investigations in Los Angeles, New York and London and has been sacked from The Weinstein Company, the studio he co-founded with his brother.
