Colby Covington pressing charges against Fabricio Werdum

"You're a fcking clown, Fabricio Werdum!".

UFC fighter Fabricio Werdum has been charged after allegedly hitting fellow fighter Colby Covington "with a boomerang" after a fight broke out between them in central Sydney. Covington claims that Werdum punched him at some point - an accusation that Werdum has denied. "When I walked past him, he looked at me and said 'filthy Brazilians, '" he told UOL.

At a UFC Fight Night late last month in Sao Paulo, Covington defeated local favourite Demian Maia by unanimous decision in a welterweight contest and proceeded to cut a derogatory promo towards the Brazilian fans after the fight, calling them "filthy animals".

He and Covington are in Sydney for a mixed martial arts event and the 40-year-old is scheduled to fight Marcin Tybura at the Qudos Bank on Sunday. He said he got punched in the face, where is the video of that? And they wonder why they get talked to like that. Covington said. "You're a f-cking clown, Fabricio Werdum!". "I went down with my master [Rafael Cordeiro]: 'Master, let's get a hair cut and shave the beard.' We were in the lobby, and I've never seen this guy before". But he kicked me, he's insolent. Covington says. "You're a filth ... yeah, what's up?" I could have hurt myself.

"I looked at him and said 'hey.' I hit his phone and asked 'what did you say?'" He wants media, wants to copy Conor McGregor.

Marcos Rojo targets Manchester United return in Champions League
The defender has not yet featured for Manchester United this season after picking up a serious knee injury back in April. The 27-year-old has targeted the Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow in three weeks as a first-team comeback.

Video footage captured the ugly incident, which Werdum, 40, claims began when Covington, 29, allegedly made racist comments about Brazilians and kicked him in the leg, according to Fox News. He looks like ridiculous the way he does.

"We started to argue and he continue to scream that Brazilians were animals".

The UFC said in a statement that it was aware of the "altercation" and "will conduct a full investigation to determine if the athlete conduct policy was violated before taking any further action on this matter".

Werdum was issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for common assault, and is expected to appear before the Downing Centre Locla Court on Wednesday December 13.
