But if you're hitting the road, expect to pay more to fill up your tank.

The Farm Bureau has done this annual survey, meant to show how changes in farm commodity prices impact the cost of putting food on the table, since 1986.

On average, Thanksgiving dinner will cost less than $5 per person. According to the Houston Chronicle, the Texas Farm Bureau reports that a dinner for ten will cost $46.75 which is a 4.3 percent drop from 2016.

Large inventories of turkey in cold storage helped create lower prices for consumers, Newton explained.

Mumbai Police increase actor Deepika Padukone's security
Padukone had reportedly said that nothing could stop the release of the film and that India had regressed as a nation. A heavy posse of security men has been deployed outside the actress's residence as well as the office in Mumbai .

Milk and sweet potatoes are also less than in 20-16. Volunteers were asked to look for the best possible prices without taking advantage of special promotional coupons or purchase deals, such as spending $50 and receiving a free turkey.

The total includes all the fixin's like rolls, pumpkin pie, and of course cranberry sauce. "When you adjust for inflation it's cheaper than it was 30 years ago when we first started this survey", said John Newton of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

So while you are celebrating Thanksgiving this year, give thanks for the money you saved.

There are plenty of places offering thanksgiving items - from fast food restaurants to buffet style places.
