The Good Place Renewed for Third Season at NBC

We're just in heaven knowing The Good Place has been renewed by NBC for a third season.

The series initially followed Bell's Eleanor, a awful person on earth who dies and arrives in "The Good Place" of the afterlife on a clerical error.

The sitcom follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), as she's trapped in a utopian-like afterlife along with Michael (Ted Danson), who created it.

The Good Place was ordered straight-to-series in February of 2015. When additional platform viewing is taken into account, the show's ratings grows to a 2.6 in the key demo, a bump up from its 2.57 rating compared with this time last season.

It eventually hit upon the idea of listing them on Taobao, an auction site owned by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba . The planes had been put up for auction offline six times since October 2015, with each deal falling through.

Season to-date, "The Good Place" is averaging 6.2 million viewers and a 2.0 rating in adults 18-49 based on "live plus seven day" averages from Nielsen Media Research.

The cast all shared their excitement for the renewal on Twitter, with Jamil writing an all caps message reading, "WELL HOLY FORKING SHIRT FORK BENCH FORK!"

"The Good Place" is now on hiatus while NBC airs its portion of the "Thursday Night Football" package. It's now just over halfway through its second season, having aired the fall finale earlier this month, with a plan to return for the season's final five episodes on January 4.
