Clippers' Patrick Beverley Out Indefinitely After Right Knee Surgery

An eight game winning streak was bad enough, but now, after losing Patrick Beverley, their success season is seemingly very limited.

Beverley underwent an arthroscopic surgery to fix a lateral meniscus, and the point guard had a microfracture procedure in the knee, the Clippers announced before they played the Atlanta Hawks.

He was sidelined for five games because of knee soreness, but returned to the lineup to play 22 minutes against the Knicks.

The Clippers have lost nine straight games to drop to 5-11 on the season. The Clippers will certainly miss Beverley, who was not only their best perimeter defender and one of the teams better shooters, but also the tone-setter for the team.

Berg says the study also shows global students and backpackers encounter conditions that may constitute criminal forced labour. The study was carried out by the University of Technology Sydney and the University of New South Wales.

The Clippers are using veteran guards Austin Rivers, Lou Williams and rookie Sindarius Thornwell in increased roles.

Beverley's injury is particularly devastating given the state of the Clippers' backcourt. He was averaging 12.2 points per game with the Clippers in 11 games this season. The lack of strong point guard play in the absence of Chris Paul has significantly hurt the productivity and efficiency of the Clippers' star big men, particularly DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan can opt out of his contract at the end of this season. Adding the loss of Beverley in the mix, Griffin will have no choice but to step up to the plate and deliver as the sole leader of the team if they expect to work it all out.

Beverley is expected to miss the remainder of the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season. This came after they started the year 4-0 and some across the league thought that perhaps they had figured things out.
