Rep. Joe Barton Threatened Former Lover with Police

Texas Congressman Joe Barton has apologized for a leaked nude photo of him that is now circulating online but says he no plans to resign over it.

Not only did he apologise, reports have also claimed that Barton has said that he is reconsidering his political future, although, making it clear that he does not intend to resign.

And because we live in a time when a man accused of initiating sexual encounters with underage girls is still very much in a Senate race, Barton emphasized that the person in question was one of the "other mature adult women" that he's had relations with.

A similarly suggestive photo of former congressman Anthony Weiner that appeared on his Twitter account in 2011 was the beginning of his downfall. It was not immediately known who posted the photo or when it was taken. I am sorry I did not use better judgment during those days.

Barton continued, saying that he would detail all of their exchanges to the police, including material he said he did not want to be publicly disclosed.

The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that the woman, whom it didn't identify, played for the newspaper a recording of a telephone conversation she had with Barton in 2015.

In the comics, Mar-Vell is a Kree who is sent to spy on Earth to decide if it's a threat to the Kree empire. Now there's this: according to Variety , Jude Law is joining Captain Marvel as the film's male lead.

The woman said she never had any intention to use the materials to retaliate against Barton. "I am sorry that I let my constituents down".

On Wednesday, Barton said in a statement that Capitol Police would launch an investigation into the incident. Sarah Dodd of Dodd Communications, who is helping Barton respond to the image, confirmed that the image is of him.

After the lewd photo surfaced, the Dallas Morning News noted that the woman can't be charged under any federal law for sharing the intimate materials.

Barton, a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, announced his re-election bid this month.

He is now the vice chairman of the powerful House Energy and Commerce committee.
