Israel strikes Syrian military facilities

Israel has targeted a military facility in Syria with a fresh round of missile attacks, according to Syrian TV broadcasters.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the aircraft went down in government territory southwest of Damascus after a missile hit it.

The Israeli leadership, including Netanyahu, as well as authorities in Damascus, did not comment on the information regarding the reported attack.

Syrian air defenses destroyed three of six Israeli missiles targeting military base in the countryside of Damascus on Monday night.

Observatory chief Rami Abdel Rahman said the missile strike targeted a military base near Kesweh, south of Damascus.

People in Damascus heard the powerful sound of explosions at the time of the airstrikes near midnight.

Israeli-Syrian relations are strained, particularly over the disputed region of the Golan Heights, which has been at the center of the conflict between the two Middle Eastern states.
