Nokia 9 may beat everyother expensive smartphone in the market

Amidst all the rumours, a new report coming from China reveals that HMD Global will be hosting an event to launch the Nokia 9 on Jan 19. Expectations are that the Finnish company will announce two high-profile smartphones at the show - the Nokia 9 and an updated 2018 version of the Nokia 8.

Chinese publication MyDrivers reported that HMD Global may launch the Nokia 9 and the next-generation Nokia 8 with a customized experience for the Chinese market.

In a reply tweet to one user, Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas has confirmed Android Oreo update for the Nokia 3 within a few months. The report goes on to state that both handsets will be tailored to the Chinese market, which likely means making them less focused on Google services and more on local equivalents. The price of the Nokia 8 has not been revealed yet, however, screenshots of the alleged Nokia 9 have been put which claim that the 64 GB Nokia 9 will cost CNY 3,699 (approx Rs 37,000) and 128 GB will cost CNY 4,199 (approx Rs 42,000). The company also kick-started its Android Oreo beta testing programme to test the new operating system on phones in the field.

On the camera front, the Nokia 9 and Nokia 8 (2018) are expected to feature a dual camera setup and IP67 certification, which will protect the phones from both water and dust protection. Nokia 8's 2018 edition may also fall somewhat at the similar price segment. There will be no 3.5mm audio jack on the phone. The Nokia 9 is supposed to have 5.5-inch QHD display and Snapdragon 835 chipsets.
