Chiefs' suspend Oakland's Marcus Peters; will miss game vs. Raiders

During an on-field skirmish with 6:12 to play in the first half and the Chiefs leading 17-14, Lynch raced from the sideline to intervene, getting between Raiders players and Peters.

According to a report from the Washington Post, Peters threw a referee's flag into the crowd after a holding penalty was called on a teammate. The Chiefs lost the game in the waning moments, 38-31. "That's why he came back out". When asked about the situation, Reid stated, "This was something Marcus [Peters] and I discussed". He did so with Marty Mornhinweg and Brad Childress in Philadelphia and with Doug Pederson in Kansas City, though the sources said Reid will continue to have strong oversight during the game. "That was the wrong thing for him to do". Reid announced that Peters has been suspended for this Sunday's game against the Raiders.

However, the questionable behavior continued on the gridiron with Peters obvious lack of will to tackle during the game. They find themselves in a thick AFC West race now with the Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers and have to beat the Raiders to avoid falling below.500 and slipping out of first place in the division. Peters was flagged for throwing the flag (how about that for poetic justice?), and while he was not ejected, he took it upon himself to walk off of the field.
