Despite 62 Bench Points, Suns Fall to Raptors

He has scored 18 or more points in seven of his last eight games, and he will get another quick chance to fill it up as the Suns play on Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors.

The Phoenix Suns are just 9-17 this season, and it could be about to get a lot worse.

Booker had 19 points and eight assists before leaving the game.

Seven Raptors reached double figures, with DeMar DeRozan (20 points, 8 assists) and Kyle Lowry (20 points, 10 assists) leading the way as usual.

He hit a ridiculous contested 3-pointer over J.J. Redick to make it a 14-point advantage and put himself up to 39. He dropped Toronto sophomore center Jakob Poeltl in the third quarter with a sleek crossover dribble near the baseline before making a nice assist to teammate Alex Len, who finished with a dunk.

The team announced after the game that Booker suffered a strained left adductor (groin injury). In short, a crossover from Jackson sent the 7-foot Poeltl flying toward the floor before a handsome drop-off pass to Suns big man Alex Len for a dunk.

Toll Brothers misses Street 4Q forecasts
The construction company reported $1.17 EPS for the quarter, missing the Thomson Reuters' consensus estimate of $1.19 by ($0.02). The firm owned 45,176 shares of the construction company's stock after purchasing an additional 8,397 shares during the quarter.

Suns forward TJ Warren was assessed two technical fouls with 7:58 to play in the third quarter to earn ejection from the game.

The Suns used an 11-2 run to pull to within six points late in the first half, and Toronto led 55-46 at the break. Greg Monroe scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Dudley scored 12.

DeRozan led the way with 12 points in the Raptors' red-hot third quarter.

For as improved as Toronto's depth is with the offseason pickup of Miles and development of the young bigs, it's still not going to be easy for the Raptors to compete with Boston or Cleveland come playoff time.

Jackson, however, is going to need plenty of smart plays like that, especially now that he'll be asked by head coach Jay Triano to step up with Booker probably out for some time.

The Suns will return home on Thursday to face the Washington Wizards at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
