Only 4 British retailers make Glassdoor's top 50 places to work

Glassdoor, a jobs site that provides an inside look at employers from the workers' perspective, includes the top-rate companies with 1,000 or more employees on its "100 Best" list.

Nigel Heap, Managing Director of Hays UK & Ireland, said: "We are extremely proud to be recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK".

As the job market tightens, and employers grow increasingly concerned about their ability to attract and retain talent, many are trying to find the right mix of perks and benefits to offer employees, human resources experts say. "We see upwards of 2,500 applicants a month interested in a career with us, and most of our millennial candidates research our culture and workplace extensively before ever making contact", explained Rice.

The race was extremely close, with Lance Bottoms securing just 759 more votes than Mary Norwood , who has asked for a recount. Bottoms and Norwood stood for Tuesday's runoff after emerging from a crowded field of candidates last month .

"We are constantly striving to make our team members feel like work is their second home and we are honored to be held in the same regard as the other winning companies", said FortuneBuilders founder Than Merrill. "If you are looking for job satisfaction, reward and enjoyment, this is an ideal company to work for". To be eligible, a company had to have at least 75 approved reviews from USA -based employees submitted between November 1, 2016, and October 22, 2017, with a minimum 3.5 percent overall company rating and a minimum 2.5 across workplace factor ratings (career opportunities, compensation & benefits, culture & values, senior management and work/life balance) during the eligibility period.

"Employers where employees love to work continue to prove that they have a recruiting and business performance advantage".

Glassdoor has announced that this year's best place to work - based on anonymous employee reviews - is Facebook. The final list is compiled based on Glassdoor's proprietary algorithm, and takes into account quantity, quality and consistency of reviews. Working with a builder base that includes some of the largest homebuilders in the US and Canada, New Home Star recruits, selects and develops sales teams with a full-time focus on new home sales delivering new home sales strategies with a national perspective and a local presence. Although the social network topped Wall Street expectations in its most recent quarter and the company's core advertising business continues to perform extremely well, the company also faced stiff headwinds in the public eye, as it struggled for months to accept responsibility for the role it played - inadvertent as it was - in last year's US presidential election.
