Seventh woman accuses Al Franken of trying to kiss her

After days tentative rebukes and a call for an ethics investigation, Democratic senators are beginning to call for Sen.

"I believe it would be better for our country if he sent a clear message that any kind of mistreatment of women in our society isn't acceptable by stepping aside to let someone else serve", Gillibrand said.

Senator Bob Casey D-Pa also joined the calls for Franken to step aside, the first male Democratic senator to do so.

Another woman named Lindsay Menz, 33, told CNN in late November that Franken grabbed her buttocks when they posed for a photo together in 2010.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) called on Al Franken to resign Tuesday as new sexual assault allegations surfaced agains the embattled lawmaker.

New allegations of sexual harassment are being reported regarding Senator Al Franken.

If Franken were forced to resign, it wouldn't change anything immediately in the Senate, because there is a Democratic Governor in Minnesota, who would appoint a replacement, before a special election in that state.

The Atlanta Falcons now find themselves in the mix of teams in the NFC competing for one of the two wild card spots. Matty Ice and crew are averaging 22.83 across the board this season and just a smidgen more, 23.00 at home.

A spokesman for Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., had no immediate comment.

A former congressional aide told Politico that Franken attempted to forcibly kiss her in 2006 after a taping of his radio show.

"It is clear that Al Franken has engaged in a pattern of egregious and unacceptable behavior toward women, and he should resign", said Sen.

Franken denied the accusation in a statement to Politico, adding, "the idea that I would claim this as my right as an entertainer is preposterous". "I look forward to fully cooperating with the ongoing ethics committee investigation", said the senator to Politico. After that initial account, several other women came forward to say Franken inappropriately touched them.

Last month, Los Angeles anchor and model Leeann Tweeden accused Franken of trying to kiss her and groping her breasts while she slept during a USO tour.

Mr Franken has apologised to his accusers, but disputes some claims.
