Westbrook's triple-double leads Thunder past Jazz 100-94

Westbrook's triple-double leads Thunder past Jazz 100-94

For most of Tuesday night's game, it looked like the Jazz were going to break through and finally defeat Oklahoma City on its home court for the first time in seven years and a dozen tries.

Thunder PG Russell Westbrook blocked his 200th career shot, becoming the only player in National Basketball Association history with 200 blocks, 5,000 assists and 15,000 points in his first 700 career games. "If we get a defensive rebound we get a chance to play in flow and the game doesn't stagnate in the halfcourt". "Leaving it all on the floor, you seen it tonight".

When Westbrook re-entered the game at the 7:30 mark, the lead was down to six and he immediately hit a pull-up jumper from 15 feet. Paul George scored 21 points, Steven Adams had 20 points and nine rebounds and Carmelo Anthony added 14 points and eight rebounds for the Thunder, who won their third straight.

The Raptors have now scored 100 or more points in 10 consecutive games. Joe Ingles finished with 16 points. He scored 11 points in the quarter. But his three blocks, two steals, and lockdown defense in the second half were just as crucial any stat line on the night.

Steven Adams has continued his hot run of recent form with a 20-point haul for Oklahoma City Thunder in their 100-94 National Basketball Association win over Utah Jazz.

When asked about his team's struggles at the end when they were outscored 45-22 over the final 16 minutes of the game, the first thing Jazz coach Quin Snyder mentioned was Westbrook. "He gave them a lot of energy and points". Paul George is one of the best defenders in the league.

A simple back-door cut is never simple when it's Russell Westbrook on the receiving end. That's tough. I thought we ran out of steam a little bit.

Guardiola: Silva Doubtful For Manchester Derby, City Not UCL Favourites
For West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna had headed the visitors into a shock lead on the stroke of half-time to silence the Etihad. We will be doing our job here and if we do it well, if we play our best football, that match will not matter.

Donovan, on how the Thunder played in the first half: "We played hurried, we played rushed, we played like we were down by 20 points with five minutes to go in the game".

It was one of two critical turnovers for Mitchell down the stretch.

George and Anthony combined to score 19 of their 35 points in the fourth quarter.

"It started from the beginning of the fourth quarter", Roberson said.

"Even though I know, we know, you can make that at any particular time, sometimes it's better to bypass that knowing you can get it back. That we collectively got a win and be able to do what we needed to do defensively and offensively".

The victory was the third in a row for the Thunder. But this win may have been their most impressive due to the deficit they came back from and the team they did it against.

"We stayed with it", Westbrook said. "We are committing to each other".
