Whistleblower alleges Flynn texted about Russian Federation nuclear deal during inauguration, congressman says

Mr. Cummings sent the letter to the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Committee, Trey Gowdy, Republican of SC, and asked him to investigate the whistle-blower's claims.

Cummings also said the whistleblower quoted a business associate of Flynn as saying the economic sanctions against Russian Federation imposed by former President Barack Obama would be "ripped up" as Flynn's first order of business as Trump's national security adviser.

"Our Committee has credible allegations that President Trump's National Security Advisor sought to manipulate the course of global nuclear policy for the financial gain of his former business partners", Cummings wrote.

In his letter, Mr. Cummings also said that his staff had been in consultations with Mr. Mueller's team, which brought the criminal charge against Mr. Flynn.

Flynn was a consultant to ACU from April 2015 to June 2016, according to amended financial disclosure forms he filed in August 2017.

An attorney for Flynn did not respond to a request for comment from CNBC. "These grave allegations compel a full, credible, and bipartisan congressional investigation".

He said Gowdy's handling of the matter sharply contrasts with the lengthy inquiry he led into allegations about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's role in the 2012 attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, "that were debunked years ago".

Copson is the managing partner of ACU Strategic Partners. Mr. Copson told the whistle-blower that Mr. Flynn had sent him a text message during Mr. Trump's inaugural address, directing him to tell others involved in the nuclear project to continue developing their plans.

However, head coach Valverde says it is pointless to talk about transfer rumours, especially while the window is closed. The biggest La Liga clubs - FC Barcelona and Real Madrid - are reportedly coming after two of their best players.

Copson went on to say that "Mike has been putting everything in place", according to the letter.

"This is going to make a lot of very wealthy people", the associate, Alex Copson, told the whistleblower on inauguration day, according to the whistleblower's account to the Democrats.

Reuters last week published documents that showed Copson and other plan proponents believed they had Flynn and Trump in their corner.

The whistleblower told Democrats that the associate had been informed by Flynn that the project was "good to go" and that the sanctions would be "ripped up". Mr. Cummings said that Mr. Gowdy should subpoena Mr. Flynn, Mr. Copson and four others to testify before the panel.

Copson had promoted a succession of nuclear projects created to include Russian participation dating back to the 1990s.

While Flynn's agreement last week to plead guilty and cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation largely insulates the retired lieutenant general from further legal jeopardy, the whistleblower's allegations raise new concerns about the extent to which Flynn may have blurred his private and public interests during his brief stint inside the White House.

On December 29, the day the Obama administration imposed new sanctions and expelled 35 Russian diplomats from the U.S. in retaliation for Moscow's election meddling, Flynn called Kislyak and asked that Russia not escalate the situation, according to court documents.
