Derrick Rose apologizes to Cavaliers

It's now possible Isaiah Thomas makes his debut before Rose returns, and the Cavs' opening-night starting point guard nearly certainly won't have the same role he did prior to his injury.

Now back with the Cleveland Cavaliers after being away from the team for almost two weeks, Derrick Rose made an attempt to clear the air with his teammates on Wednesday.

Playing alongside LeBron James on a proven championship contender would undoubtedly boost his credentials heading into next summer (when he can test free agency once again) he must have thought.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen.

On Monday morning, the Cleveland Cavaliers officially announced that former MVP Derrick Rose will make his return to the team to begin rehabbing his injured left ankle.

Stokes in England squad for Australia ODIs, but his availability remains unclear
Stokes's father, Ged, said he never expected to see his son play for Canterbury and the family are planning a trip to Rangiora. Bayliss admitted Stokes' potential appearance in Australia could be a distraction for the team.

Would he stay with the team and rehab yet another injury, or would he simply walk away from the game due to the mental and physical anguish?

Rose spoke to his Cavs teammates before their game against the Sacramento Kings and apologized for the absence, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. "Where I am now, it's working for me and for this team". "We will continue to provide him with support and have patience as he re-joins his teammates and works his way back on to the court".

The Cleveland Cavaliers have managed to get back to their dominant ways despite being ravaged by injuries early on in the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season.

That said, the only potential solution would be to either waive Rose or potentially try to deal him before the trade deadline.

While Lue didn't disclose the content of Rose's message, he said the team was happy to have him back at the practice facility. "But just hearing what he had to say and then just seeing how everyone was welcoming him back and was happy he's here". However there is no timetable as to when Rose may return to the court. "It won't be in the next few games or nothing like that, so just got to see how he takes to treatment".
