Giants GM says parameters of Stanton trade have been reached

It is no secret that the Dodgers have been on the top of Giancarlo Stanton's list, and his full no-trade clause gives him the final say.

"He is arguably the best player in the game", Jeter said. The Giants are among seven teams Ohtani is considering signing with. Though he has an opt-out clause for 2020, Miami doesn't want to chance it. It is worth noting that Stanton is 28 years old. By all appearances, the Marlins are willing to take a less-than-premium return in terms of young talent in order to offload the vast majority of that remaining obligation.

Nevertheless, the Dodgers have reported issues with adding Stanton's contract and going over the luxury tax. They've been mediocre for years - a restart is nearly necessary. That's especially the case now that the punishments are even more costly under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Eric Stephen of True Blue L.A. did a great job of breaking down the Dodgers' current straits on this front.

Stanton is due to make $25 million in 2018 after he led the majors with 59 home runs and 132 RBIs this season.

Mostly sunny, high near 38 — TODAY'S FORECAST
Thursday , expect sunny skies and a high of 31, with a north northwest wind of 6 to 9 miles per hour , the weather service said. Saturday night , the low will be around 26 with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.

The Marlins are trying to trade Stanton, the NL MVP, and the Giants and Cardinals are the frontrunners.

But on Wednesday, Giants general manager Bobby Evans confirmed on San Francisco's flagship radio station KNBR that the club had reached the parameters of a potential trade for Stanton. However, the feeling is that he will probably approve the deal. When asked specifically about absorbing the majority of that contract, Evans didn't address it.

Earlier this week Stanton and his representatives met with executives of both the Giants and the Cardinals, Stanton was present in the meetings. And beyond all that.
