Net Neutrality decision could have negative impact

Net Neutrality - the principle that internet service providers (ISPs) can not discriminate against any lawful content, platform, or user - is under attack by the unelected chairman of the FCC, Ajit Pai. FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, a Democrat appointed by President Obama who supports keeping the current regulations, said that almost a half-million comments before the FCC were filed from Russian email addresses, and that 50,000 consumer complaints are missing from the record. Many people only have one option to access the internet. "I am outraged that our republican democracy is failing at correctly representing the people's interests at the behest of big business", said freshman finance major Matthew Low.

It also helps rural Americans gain access to high speed internet. The move could very well turn the internet we know and love upside down.
