Ryan Reynolds Cast As Detective Pikachu

This marks a huge get for Legendary in terms of star power, and audiences are already familiar with just hearing Reynolds' voice thanks to his role as Deadpool. The world is odd, and I'm not sure I'm long for it anymore.

Ryan Reynolds has joined the cast of Detective Pikachu, as, well, Detective Pikachu himself, per The Hollywood Reporter.

I never thought I'd write the following.

Russian Federation banned from Olympics
The ministry issued Zakharova's words along with a slogan that spread on social media Tuesday: "No Russia No Games". But, Walden said Rodchenkov remains fearful for his friends and family who are still in Russian Federation .

Rob Letterman (Goosebumps, Monsters vs. Aliens) is directing the Pokemon film from a script written by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of The Galaxy) and Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls). I vote for the former. Instead, the live-action Pokemon film is pulling from the game Great Detective Pikachu, an investigative spin on the Pokemon superstar a la Sherlock Holmes, who has a knack for finding things and solving mysteries.

According to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds is set to act alongside Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton, stars of the upcoming "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" and HBO series "Big Little Lies", respectively. In fact, some of us might have been on that train lobbying for Danny DeVito to don the hat and take on the role of Detective Pikachu. When his father goes missing, Smith's character teams up with the Pokémon investigator to find him.

Detective Pikachu's plot will be based on a kidnapping, with Pikachu (Reynolds) assigned to hunt the offender down. Newton plays a sassy journalist who helps them on their adventure. One day, Pikachu encounters a boy named Tim Goodman, who is able to understand what he is saying.
