Willie Taggart receives loud ovation at Florida State basketball game

New Florida State head coach Willie Taggart took the Seminoles job after just one season at OR, and both Ducks players and some media members are none to happy about the decision.

Freshman safety Nick Pickett tweeted: " (Taggart) is a liar then gone cry (in) front of the team like we gone feel bad for (him)". "I know the last two coaches we've had here won a lot of ball games".

Taggart said Florida State gauged his interest Thursday, a day before Fisher resigned to sign the richest contract in college football history - a 10-year, $75 million deal with Texas A&M.

Taggart shed tears as he discussed his family full of FSU fans, which included his brother, who rooted for the Noles even when Taggart coached South Florida against FSU. He also said he doesn't see Florida State's 6-6 year as a sign it's in a rebuilding phase - but rather a "realignment".

Fisher was later asked why he would have left what appeared to be a comfortable set up at FSU, to which he replied: "And then my relationship with Scott, the ability to come back and work and relive that vision of things that we had did before at LSU, I think it was a no-brainer in a insane way", Fisher said.

Justin Wilcox, a former OR player and Junction City native, would have to leave California after only one season as head coach to return home.

Taggart has a 47-50 career record, including 7-5 this season, but is known as a rebuilder.

Adam James & Josh Carr (local competitors) by Harper pinning Adam James following the double arm-lift crucifix powerbomb. The question is: for how long? They are then informed that Rusev & English have been added to the match.

"That's a bonus, but that's not where you start because that narrows the pool", Mullens said on the importance of candidates having a tie to the program after getting burned by Taggart.

"This is not a rebuild, it's a realignment". But until we heard him speak on Wednesday, we didn't know how genuine his feelings for FSU were. We're going to go out and find them and find the right guys, the right guys that are going to come here and do the right things. "Excuse my language but we were a bunch of bad asses back in the days".

Taggart was apologetic to his former employer and OR players, but said he was grateful for the opportunity to return to his home state. Taggart talked extensively about being closer to home, and he mentioned his late father, saying, "I feel like I'm here now because of my dad, he put the word in to the good Lord, please get my son be closer to home and closer to his mom".

"I apologized (to everyone at Oregon) before I left. So I expect to go out and win a lot of ball games like they did". And you have to be from Florida to really understand.

"Excuse my language, but I want a damn good defense".

"I wasn't going to leave it just for anything".
