Facebook Messenger Instant Games to Get Live Streaming, Video Chats, and More

To use live streaming, you just tap on the new camera icon at the top right of the screen while gaming, then add a short description to be shared alongside your post.

Besides, the company also launched 20 new titles.

Now company has announced to release a new feature that lets you video chat and live stream with your friends when you are playing games with them.

With the live streaming feature, Facebook is playing catch up rivals like Twitch, YouTube and Microsoft, all of which today offer their own tools and services for live streaming games.

Next up, for over 245 million using Facebook Messenger's video chat feature monthly, the messaging app will begin testing a feature that will enable users to play games while video chatting with each other.

Reports suggest that the users will be able to record these live streams so that they can be posted to the profile afterwards.

The platform, codenamed "Remix", will reportedly bring together an on-demand Spotify-like paid audio service with video clips. At this point, it's unclear what the new music service will mean for YouTube Red , the company's other paid offering.

In an effort to provide something new, Facebook has announced support for live streaming via Facebook Live and video chatting with fellow gamers.

"I absolutely believe that the streaming community, the influencer community, will have the opportunity to see this as something they want to pick up on", Facebook's global director of games partnerships, Leo Olebe, told Venturebeat. Over the next few weeks and months, Facebook is adding more titles to Instant Games, which will join original games, like Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Words With Friends Frenzy.

Recently, Tetris was launched that includes features like marathon mode and the ability to play with friends in Messenger group chats. Sonic Jump is rolling out now in select regions and will launch globally in the coming weeks. Other games lined up for 2018 are Sonic Jump by SEGA and new casual game based on Puzzle & Dragons.

In 2018, Facebook Messenger brings Disney plush characters to the platform with Disney Tsum Tsum, published by LINE Corp.

GungoHo Online Entertainment Inc is joining Messenger to bring the hit game Puzzle and Dragons to the Facebook app.
