Firewatch Developer's Next Game Is In the Valley of Gods

You can check out the reveal trailer for the game from The Game Awards below.

Similar to the developer's previous game Firewatch, their new game is a first-person adventure that takes place in 20th century Egypt. Players will be hunting for treasure, exploring ancient (and dusty) tombs and, basically, live out their Indiana Jones fantasies.

You'll have to wait a little while to play it, however. Behold the trailer and discover In the Valley of Gods for yourself.

A Long Look At Death Stranding, Which Is Still Weird As Hell
There's more Norman Reedus , more Norman Foetus, and those unusual black figures from the game's debut trailer over a year ago. However, give Kojima's predilection for misdirection, I wouldn't take any fact as a certainty right now.

In the Valley of Gods is in development for PC platforms (Windows, Mac, and Linux), but we haven't ruled out more platforms, including consoles. "'In the Valley of Gods" is in no way related to "Firewatch, ' but if you enjoy well-told and well-acted dynamic video game stories, or you just really liked 'Firewatch, ' this game is for you", the game's FAQ says. Unfortunately, players won't be able to get their hands on the game until 2019, and the Steam page doesn't give a hint at what the system requirements for In the Valley of Gods may be. Like Firewatch was, the new game looks like it will also be a narrative-driven game.

If you're curious about what the song playing in the trailer is, it's called "Muddy Waters" by LP. Campo Santo, the developers, describe the game as a "first-person adventure".
