Simmba: Ranveer Singh to play quirky cop in KJo-Rohit Shetty collaboration

After the massive success of "Golmaal Again", Rohit Shetty unveils the first poster of his next directorial venture "Simmba" starring Ranveer Singh.

Presented by Karan Johar, the movie has been locked for release on December 28, 2018. Johar will be collaborating with Rohit Shetty on this project.

It is likely that the actor-director duo will set our scenes on fires with their energy and full-of-life personas.

The last time Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh went head-to-head against each other at the box office, it was in 2015.

Simmba will be Johar's next big project once he has wrapped up his much awaited Student of the Year 2.

Speculations are also rife that actress Kajal Agrawal, who also featured in the original film, will play the leading lady in Simmba.

Reportedly, the idea of the has been taken from Jr NTR's film "Temper" and Rohit has also acquired the rights of the same. "The heroine of the film is not yet finalised, we will start working on it after Diwali", said Shetty in an earlier interview, according to a DNA report. Rohit Shetty and his team made enough changes for the script to suit the nativity of the Bollywood audience. He wanted to take Ranveer Singh featuring as Lakhan where he will be playing Anil Kapoor's character of - a never-do-gooder who turns into a cop.

The film marks the second collaboration of Rohit with both the actor and the filmmaker.

Clearly, Ranveer has moved on since Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati.
