Ashes 2017-18: Ben Duckett stood down by England over Perth incident

Duckett is not part of England's Test squad but he was among a handful of England A players set to feature in the two-day fixture against a Cricket Australia XI alongside Moeen Ali, which began on Saturday. The England team's security was present when the incident took place, and the police was not summoned.

England could have done without yet another alcohol related incident on their tour of Australia but Lions player Ben Duckett has given them exactly that.

It was the first night after England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) director of cricket Andrew Strauss agreed to a relaxing of the midnight curfew placed on the Test squad a fortnight ago.

It comes after wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow was involved in a freakish headbutt incident with Australia batsman Cameron Bancroft prior to the Ashes.

Duckett, 23, has been touring Australia with England Lions and was among a number of players promoted for the current tour match while senior players rested ahead of next week's all-important third Test against Australia in Perth.

"I'm not sure exactly what more I can say, so I'm sure there'll be some stern words from above".

"The last thing any of us want is to be in the news for the wrong reasons and I will be reminding the players of their obligations".

England are now 2-0 down in the series after losing the day/night test by 120 runs and will be hoping to made amends when the next test starts at the WACA on December 14.
