White House expected to address Trump accusers, Alabama senate race

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said that the suspect in Monday's New York City bomb attack wouldn't have entered the USA under President Donald Trump's proposal to end immigration preferences for family members of US residents.

The White House called on Monday for immigration reforms based on merit-based rules, saying the explosion in New York City hours earlier is evidence the USA needs to boost border security.

As he began a question, Acosta told Sanders at Monday's press briefing that journalists make "honest mistakes" and that doesn't mean it's "fake news". "I think that shows that the network took it seriously and recognize that it was a problem", she said.

"It's very telling that that individual had to be suspended because of that reporting". "As a result of our continued reporting over the next several hours ultimately we determined the information was wrong and we corrected the mistake on air and online". Sanders cited the erroneous report by ABC News' Brian Ross that wrongly claimed candidate Donald Trump ordered Michael Flynn to initiate contact with the Russians.

The contentious interaction with the press comes after Trump sent several tweets over the weekend and on Monday rebuking reporting about his TV viewing habits, how big his crowds were during a recent rally in Florida, and the Russian Federation investigation. He has previously referred to news outlets, including NBC, as "the enemy of the American People." .

Sanders started to answer but Acosta and another reported interjected. Sanders set him straight.
