Android Oreo sees a bit more growth in Google's latest distribution numbers

Apart from the Android Oreo changes and features, the Oreo Beta for Nokia 5 also brings the December Security update.

The company's chief product officer Juho Sarvikas has mentioned that the Nokia 6 is next in line to receive the latest Android version update.

Once you have registered at Nokia Beta Labs, entered details of your phone and requested the OTA you will get the Beta on your Nokia 5.

You would need ARCore app to use AR Stickers app on Pixel sets. After providing Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Nokia 8, the company has now started providing Android Oreo beta update to the Nokia 5 users.

Google has released the Android distribution numbers for the 7-day period ending on December 11, and it shows Oreo is still installed on 0.5 per cent of all active devices.

The software package that contains the beta version of Android 8.0 Oreo has a file size of 1.1GB. This sits opposite of last year's Android Nougat which has crawled onto 23.3% of devices this month.

The dual-SIM handset offers connectivity options like Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India).
