Gianluigi Donnarumma 'Reduced to Tears' After AC Milan Fan Protest

Donnarumma was reduced to tears and had to be consoled by teammate Leonardo Bonucci before kick-off and in the dressing room after the game.

Reports in Italy have suggested Donnarumma is involved in a contract dispute with the rossoneri and has instructed his agent, Mino Raiola, to help him secure a move away from the San Siro in January.

Despite still being a teenager Donnarumma is now in his third season as Milan's No. 1.

An enormous banner was unfurled at the San Siro aimed at Donnarumma which read: "Psychological violence by giving you €6million-a-season & signing your parasite brother?"

"It's time to leave. our patience with you is over".

The former Italian midfielder also said he respects the club fans but they need to understand whether Donnarumma wants to stay with AC Milan or leave.

Since arriving in the East Midlands, the Frenchman has had quite the impact. On the injury front, Puel nearly has a clean bill of health to call on.

In the spring of 2017, Donnarumma didn't want to extend his contract with the club, intending to leave for Juventus or Real.

The 18-year-old made his AC Milan debut at 16 and has gone from strength to strength since, cementing his place in the starting line-up and establishing himself as the natural successor of legendary Gianluigi Buffon. "I can only thank him for what he's doing", the 39-year-old was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. Perhaps there is a gentleman who wants to organise something, but we will look out for Milan's interests in every arena.

However, Mirabelli insisted: "Our position is clear: we do not need to sell anyone". We are backing Gigio because, I want to repeat this, we have no intention of selling him.

"We must protect him, as we know where the rot is coming from".

Milan manager Gennaro Gatusso said after the game that he will do his best to protect Donnarumma. "We hope to resolve this situation soon".
