Apple iPhones are created to die - Customers

Apple apologized recently when it was revealed that the company was slowing down older iPhones that have degraded batteries.

Following a report yesterday indicating that a French watchdog was launching a preliminary investigation into Apple's battery and performance practices, the company now faces even more scrutiny from additional government officials in the us. Senator John Thune (R-S.D.), who chairs the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, wrote a letter to Apple CEO Tim Cook questioning the level of transparency the tech giant should have provided users before slowing down its devices.

At the time, the company asserted it would never "do anything to intentionally shorten the life of any Apple product, or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades".

As reported by Watson, emergency services were called to the Apple Store shortly after 10:00am on Tuesday, forcing around 50 customers and employees to leave the building temporarily while responders acted upon the smoking battery. We'll update if Apple responds. The slowing of devices is meant to avoid iPhones shutting down without warning when a worn battery can no longer provide enough current to run the processor at full speed, Apple said. Meanwhile, over 30 class action lawsuits have sprung up in the United States in the wake of the debacle.

When these performance speculations arose at the end of 2017, Apple then released a statement that said its fix would be included in newer iPhone models in the future. Previously the network was a rumor that if you suddenly found out that the phone was less than 500 cycles full charge, the battery replacement on favorable terms will be denied. "Absent the code inserted by Apple, the reduced battery capacity of these phones would not have negatively affected processing performance". He also notes that the brand's solution has irked customers who think a free battery replacement should have been announced rather than just a cut.
