NFL Coaching Rumors: Could Lions lose Matt Patricia to Giants?

NFL Coaching Rumors: Could Lions lose Matt Patricia to Giants?

His intelligence is very highly touted.

Detroit Lions fans continue to wait.

"If the Lions miss out on [New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt] Patricia", Birkett wrote, "their search could turn to another ex-Patriot, Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel".

Patricia could have competition for New York's head coach opening: Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and Patricia's own colleague, Patriots defensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, all interviewed with the Giants recently. Sports Illustrated's Peter King adds that while the Lions favor Patricia over Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel for their head coaching job, Patricia is now leaning towards the Giants' head coaching position, meaning Vrabel could eventually land in Motor City.

Benjamin Netanyahu Tiptoes Around US Threat To Cut Off Palestinian Aid
On a symbolic level, UNRWA provides hope that someday, Palestinians can return to their lands now occupied by Israel. On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he agreed with Trump's reported decision to cut funding.

Leonard explained it "is not a done deal" the Detroit Lions will hire him "as several reports had claimed coming out of his interviews last weekend" and added "there are indications he prefers the Giants".

Patricia, 43, has been the Patriots' defensive coordinator since 2012, his units finishing in the top 10 in scoring defense in each of his six seasons. Some key offensive weapons, such as Odell Beckham, Jr. will be returning from injury.

The NFL's tampering policy prevents the Giants and Patricia, if he is indeed the pick, from agreeing to a contract until after the Patriots' season is over. That situation lends itself to Patricia having a quarterback of the present and future. As the Patriots are still an active NFL Playoff participant, nothing could become official until the season has concluded.
